The selection process for the BPSC Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Exam 2025 typically includes:

For the satisfactory service rendered by the candidate earlier on contract basis, a maximum of 25 marks at the rate of 5 marks per year (for part of a year, the proportional marks obtained by multiplying the number of working days by 5 and dividing by 365 will be added). The period of work on contract basis will be decided on the basis of the salary payment certificate issued by the concerned controlling officer. For this, the period till the last date of filling the online application – 23.06.2025 will be calculated for work experience.
Preliminary examination will be conducted with books i.e. candidates can take books with them if they wish.
Only one book will be allowed for each section.
Candidates can take a maximum of three books
(i) one for General Knowledge
(ii) one for Mathematics and
(iii) one for General Science to the examination hall.
Only text books of N.C.ER.T/B.S.E.B/I.C.S.E and other boards will be accepted as books.
Guides related to any subject, photocopies of any book or handwritten notes will not be allowed to be taken to the examination hall.
Before entering the examination hall, candidates must clearly write their name and roll number on the expected book.
Exchange of books in the examination hall is completely prohibited.
Merit List:- Merit list will be prepared category wise for reservation on the basis of marks obtained in the main examination and preference obtained in work experience done on contractual basis on the same post.
